Hello everyone, I'd like to give you all a very warm welcome to my very first blog post on my website!.
I got the idea to make my character after figuring out what I wanted with my website, so I got on a voice call with a friend of mine and made it happen! I knew I wanted to create a barbarian / swordsman type of character, so I went with the custom class creator. She's not able to use magic whatsoever- I made sure of that by adding in the 'Dark Powered Magic' and 'Light Powered Magic' together in the character disadvantages section. This made the levelling difficulty multiplier quite easy, so I evened everything out to the mid range by choosing expertise in long-sword as well as raising my possible hit points gained per level right the way up to 30. Character creation other than that was fairly straightforward, I chose to answer the Questions about her upbringing, and of course picked up the Ebony Dagger to deal with those pesky Imps early on.
Other than the character creation, I really just knew what I had in mind for a playthrough from the beginning. I've been listening to quite a lot of 1980's Power Metal, more or less just the Fantasy based songs, and I always got a 'Swords and Sorcery' genre vibe from the music, especially with the album covers being what they are (Talking about you, Manowar), and because of this I'm going for a darkerm more in-it-for-themselves sort of a playthrough. I'm completely sidelining (and so automatically failing) the main questline, and going straight for the fame and fortune side of things.
To talk a little bit about what I've actually been up to so far....
After spending a lot of time wandering from town to town in the Daggerfall area and pickup up odd jobs and quests here and there, I made my way over to Daggerfall City. There, I joined The Knights of the Dragon, and have started slowly making my way up their ranks. After a short excursion to the southern Empires for some *minor loan fraud* I'd managed to work my way up to affording a nice house in Penwold. Penwold is quite a nice town if I do say so myself, it's technically still in the territory of Daggerfall, on the island in between mainland Daggerfall and the major island of Betony. After some more fraud, I was also able to afford myself a an Airship, which I've named 'Jackdaw'.... I'd like to know if anyone else gets the reference. After that last bit of fraudulent activities, I'll being going about the rest of my playthrough with slightly less exploitation of other nations.
As for what's next... I haven't quite decided yet. So far I'm just going to continue my current path of doing quests and clearing out dungeons.
